Editorial Policies

  1. The Dictionary of Philosophy of Mind is intended to serve as a reference work suitable for use by professionals and students interested in the philosophy of mind.
  2. The Advisory Board advises the Editors on the basic policies governing the operation of the Dictionary, and on the admission of members to the Editorial and Review Boards.
  3. All appointments are for a renewable term of 4 years.
  4. All editorial decisions concerning the Dictionary, including decisions concerning its format, content and distribution, are made by the Dictionary's Editor in consultation with the Editorial Board.
  5. Submissions to the Dictionary are solicited by invitation from the Editor, a member of the Editorial Board, or may be submitted via the world wide web form.
  6. All submissions are subject to blind review by a member of the Review Board or a suitable peer recommended by the Review Board.
  7. Readers of the Dictionary are also encouraged to contact authors or Editor directly with comments, corrections, and other suggestions for improvements.
  8. Entries will not be replaced once written but can be updated by the original author.
  9. It remains the responsibility of authors to maintain their entries and to keep them current.
  10. The views expressed by the authors in their entries are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of the Dictionary's Editor or of anyone else associated with the Dictionary.
