Philosophy faculty participate in The Annual (UW) President David Johnston Run for Mental Health, May 18, 2010.The undergraduate program offers a full range of courses in traditional areas of philosophy, with an emphasis in our areas of specialization. In addition, the department plays an active role in supporting the cognitive science option, and the Philosophy Society (PhilSoc: visit Facebook)

The excellent faculty to student ratio permits close and frequent contact between faculty and students. The Ph.D. program is specifically designed to make use of this by emphasizing individually supervised research and area projects instead of set preliminary examinations.
