Department of Philosophy Awards 2011

The second annual Department of Philosophy Awards were presented on April 5, 2011.
This event celebrated philosophy students' achievements over the past year, Professor Angus Kerr-Lawson's newly designated Distinguished Professor Emeritus by UW, and the recognition of Robert Ewen and Gerry Remers as Friends of the Philosophy Department.

Madeleine Currie
First Year Prize
- For the most outstanding performance in Philosophy by a first year student.


Robert Mason
Second Year Prize - For the most outstanding overall performance in Philosophy by a second year Philosophy student.

Julia Van de Vondervoort
Third Year Prize - For the most outstanding overall performance in Philosophy by a third year Philosophy student.

Ralph Neill
Fourth Year Prize - For the most outstanding overall performance in Philosophy by a fourth year Philosophy student.

Lisa Farlow
Special Prize - For distinguished contribution to the Department both as a scholar and as a citizen.


Julia Van de Vondervoort
The Judy Wubnig Essay Prize in Philosophy: Undergraduate - For the best undergraduate essay in the history of philosophy submitted as work for a course.


Ryan Huckle
The Judy Wubnig Essay Prize in Philosophy: Graduate - For the best graduate essay in the history of philosophy submitted as work for a course.


Angus Kerr-Lawson
Distinguished Professor Emeritus - Congratulations to Dr. Angus Kerr-Lawson on his being appointed Distinguished Professor Emeritus. The title of Distinguished Emeritus will be officially conferred at the 2011 Spring Convocation in June.
